S3D Rig Systems

Our TS5 rig has 12 high-precision motors on the rig itself. There are 3 motors per lens FIZ (Focus, Iris, Zoom) and then motors attached to each camera sled that allow for 5-degrees of freedom for each camera. All of that motor activity is summed into a small physical unit that lives on the rig called an SPC (Stereo Platform Controller.) The SPC then communicates off the rig to the SIP.

The SIP has two halves. The first half is taking a LE and RE image and analyzing it in realtime. It is actually looking at those 29 different depth cues, and generating data from those cues. A complete set of data for those depth cues is analyzed every 6 milliseconds and then presented to the operator in a wide variety of user-selectable ways. This automation allows our system to be very precise and perform faster than any other s3d rig systems in the market.

Camera Systems

Red Epics are the hottest cameras in the market and the 5K recording with Red Epic allows capturing of exceptional details. RED's newly developed HDRx™ extended dynamic range technology and EPIC boasts an amazing dynamic range of up to 18 stops.

Purpose-built for perfect multi-camera synchronization, EPIC comes to market at a time when 3D capture requires the sophistication of a new generation of innovative technology.

Camera Support

Camera Head & Tripod

To support a top heavy rig, we usually recommend using a mitchell based camera fluid head that can handle atleast 120lbs. For this purpose we can also supply a Cartoni C60S fluid head along with two stage tripod and a spreader.

Hi - Hat can also be provided.

Optional Equipments

Filters & Polarizers

We recommend the use of Quarter Wave Retarder to preven left/right disparity in images that contain glare.

On request we can provide one pair of ND 0.6 4" x 4" Filters and one pair of ND 1.2 4" x 4" Filters that slide into the filter holder kit of the rig.

A pair of 4.5" Circular One Stop Linear Polarizers can also be supplied.

Director's Video Assist System

We understand that Director's require 3D playback along with live 3D monitoring for ensuring that they've got the shots they need. Our Decklink Extreme 3D allows just that, so Director can have a separate monitoring system from that of a Stereographer.

Stereographer's On-set 3D Monitor

Stereographer and Director can both benefit from the LG 47" 3D monitor. This monitor comes with a portable flight case and 4 polarized glasses.

Portable 2D Monitor

This 7" Portable Lilliput monitor can be connected to the Decklink Extreme 3D system to provide Director or DOP with live 2D monitoring / playback.

Audio / Video Cables

We can also supply various sizes of BNC cables ranging from 150' lengths to 2' lengths.

DIT Systems

Our DIT services include Data Backup from Red Rushes, Exports for Editing and Visual Effects, Image manipulation and 3D playback from Red Rushes to verify correct recording.

On-Set Crew

Our team consists of Stereographers, 3D Engineers, Rig Tech's and DIT's with an immense experience in the S3D film production. Our crew has worked on films like Final Destination 5, Drive Angry 3D, Jack and the Giant Killer, Prometheus, Resident Evil: Retribution.
